Along with many of the other Balkans, Macedonia have chosen to send something a little bit more different, with rap song
'Let Me Love You' sung by Tamara ft. Vrcak & Adrijan Gaxha.

Let Me Love You
A Little Bit of History...
Macedonia, or FYR Macedonia or Former Yugslav Republic of Macedonia or FYROM (whichever you prefer - but to save any
hassle I'm simply calling them 'Macedonia') don't have a great record at Eurovision and before the Semi-Final was introduced,
they constantly faced relegation. What's interesting is their 'success' at Eurovision since the new format has been
introduced. In 2004 and 2005 Macedonia entered mediocre songs, certainly nothing great nor spectacular - but
on both occasions very narrowly made it through to the final, where they then finished outside the qualification zone
and found themselves back in the Semi-Final. 2006 was no exception, with exactly the same thing happening, yet they
did pull their best Eurovision position to date - 12th. 2007 saw exactly the same thing happen, so hopefully, a fairer system
this year will see them have to send a decent entry in order to qualify.
Singer & Song
Tamara ft. Vrcak & Adrijan Let Me Love You
In the National Final,
the performance of what was the Macedonian version of ‘Let Me Love You’ was terrible.Rap invariably fails at Eurovision, so it will be interesting to see how an Eastern country which usually
benefits from neighbourly votes will fare.Regarding neighbours, Macedonia
was one of the countries to be unharmed from the new system, with many of the countries who tend to award them top points
still present in their Semi-Final, including the added bonus of having Serbia
to rely on for hefty points. The English version of the song is good, and I do
quite enjoy listening to it, I just hope it doesn’t come across as the mess it was in the National Final. They have a great draw and as I mentioned, they seem to have been unharmed with the new format regarding
their neighbours, the only thing that will be interesting is to see if they manage the usual 10th place, in which
case, the jury vote could scupper their qualification.
