A Little Bit of History...
Lithuania, though a relatively new nation at Eurovision, have by far one of the worst records - they certainly haven't
had the same luck as their baltic neighbours Estonia and Latvia. Their first entry managed a wonderful 'nul points'
in 1994, and their next attempt in 1999 could only manage 20th place out of 23. Relegation in 2000 led them to the 2001
Contest, where they achieved their best result to that date - 13th. Since the new format was introduced in 2004
they hadn't had much luck until 2006, when LT United with their novelty entry 'We Are The Winners' qualified from the Semi
and notched up 6th place overall - not quite the winners, but definately a mini victory for the nation. It was back
to form in 2007 but Lithuania are hopeful that the new format this year will bring them some luck.
Singer & Song
Jeronimus Milius Nomads In The Night
The first time I heard
this I quite liked it, but many more songs have emerged since, including many more good ballads, and I just don’t think
this is as good as the rest of them, in fact, I think it’s one of the worst. There’s
no harm in this at all, it’s nice, but it’s also dull and boring, and I really doubt that Jeronimus can manage
any kinds of vocal that will lift this song from the travesty that it is. I really
wish that for once Lithuania would send a really good song, which is a contender for the European
vote without having to be a novelty entry.
