Boy band D'Nash will represent Spain in this year's Eurovision singing I Love You Mi Vida.

I Love You Mi Vida
A Little Bit Of History...
Spain haven’t had a great record at Eurovision winning just once in 1968 and then
drawing first place with three other countries in 1969, only to not be declared the overall winner.Recently, their run hasn’t been bad, 6th in 2001, 7th in 2002, 8th
in 2003 and 10th in 2004.Unfortunately, it all came to a rather large
slump last year, when Spain finished 21st with what I thought was the
rather good ‘Brujeria’ by Son de Sol. In 2006 they entered Las Ketchup with
one of the direst songs of the evening and finished very close to the bottom of the scoreboard. Nevertheless, Spain
are Big Four members and will automatically be performing in the Final in 2007.
Singer & Song
D'Nash I Love You Mi Vida
In a very high profile selection process,
Spain chose sexy Spanish group D’Nash
to represent them in this year’s contest, singing ‘I Love You Mi Vida’.The song’s as typical a one as you’d expect from a Spanish boy group, and this certainly isn’t a
bad thing. It has everything it needs, a good beat, Spanish flavour and a well
polished vocal on behalf of the boys.I really like it, and think Spain can do really well with this – they should certainly
be on the top half of the score board. The girls will go crazy and it is a catchy
number, pleasing to the eye and very enjoyable, so good luck Spain,
it isn’t a winner, but it is a very good one.
Prediction
Grand Final: Likely Top Ten 9th-11th
With such a good song and *quite* a good bunch of nice looking fellas, it would be hard to see Spain repeat their most
recent results at Eurovision. This is certainly much better than Las Ketchup last year - and contains everything a winner
should - catchy chorus, good choreography and a generally good song. I don't think it is a winner though, but should
make the top ten and get Spain through to the Final next year on merit rather than through the back door.
Prediction after Semi-Final
Possible Top Ten: 9th - 11th
Good song, good singers, good looking boys and a good performance - what's not to like? Spain have every chance
of a good result this year, but I think their draw may just hold them back from where they deserve to be.
Review of Eurovision Performance
If political voting effected anyone in
a serious way this year, it was for Spain,
who offered one of the best pop entries of the night in the Final, which was both well sung and performed. There’s not much to say on this, the entry ticked all the right boxes: the song was great, the vocals
were perfect, the choreography was great and the boys looked really well.I think
it’s a shame this didn’t do better, as I certainly think it deserved to break the top ten, even the top five,
but unfortunately things weren’t great this year when it came to the voting, and many fans had to be content with watching
a great show and ignoring the result. As for my prediction, Spain didn’t
quite manage the 9th to 11th I ended up predicting for them, although I think despite coming 20th,
43 points was quite a lot to muster, so the boys of D’Nash should be happy with that at least.

1) Keep to the song

And don't be afraid to challenge my predictions - but keep it polite please!
